Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
Students are exposed to the health care system by investigating the history of medicine, safety practices used by medical professionals, communication skills, ethics, and leadership skills, including the use of parliamentary procedure.
Principles of Nursing Science
The course introduces students to basic principles of the profession of nursing. The goals for student include knowledge of the history of nursing, an introduction to nursing theory, professionalism, legal/ethical issues in nursing, infection control, safety, and customer satisfaction. Skills learned include vital signs and how to document on a graphic record, patient positioning/transferring, bed-making, feeding, and personal protective equipment.
Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy technicians work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and perform technical and clerical duties in the pharmacy. Pharmacy technicians measure, mix, count out, label, and record medication dosages according to prescription orders.
Certified Nursing Assistant
Students obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to become a healthcare professionals who provide intimate, hands-on healthcare to patients in medical settings. Students will complete classes and take state certification test.
Medical Terminology
Students will be introduced to the structure of medical terms, including prefixes, suffixes, word roots, singular and plural forms, and medical abbreviations. The course allows students to achieve comprehension of medical vocabulary appropriate to medical procedures, human anatomy and physiology, and pathophysiology.
